Cancellations can be made up until 48 hours before the start time of a booked session. If you cancel within 48 hours of the session start time you will still be charged for the session.
Please note that it is also not possible to ‘rearrange’ sessions at short notice.
Why do I still need to pay?
If you cancel within 48 hours of the session start time you still need to pay for the following reasons:
- Within 48 hours I cannot reasonably expect to fill the cancelled session. This means I have lost income for the session. I need a stable income to be able to continue working and supporting clients.
- I will have planned my time around the sessions that are booked. I will already have put the time and energy aside for you. Giving me less than 48 hours notice of a cancellation means I cannot organise things to make the best of my time and energy.
- I may also have spent time processing our work together, either independently or in supervision. This preparation time still needs to be covered even if you cancel, especially if this is at short notice.
What if I am ill or there are unforeseen circumstances?
Unfortunately, cancellations within 48 hours of the start time of the session still need to be paid in full. Of course I recognise that you have been unfortunate if you are ill or have an emergency. But much like an employed person still expects to be paid if their employer is unwell, I still need to maintain my income if you are unwell. I cannot accept a financial liability for another person’s illness or unforeseen circumstances. (I am aware this might not sound very compassionate but unfortunately it is the reality of maintaining an income).
What about if I cancel my free initial session?
If you cancel your initial session with more than 48 hours notice then you can rebook another free initial session when you are able to do so.
If you cancel your free initial session within 48 hours of the session start time then I will count your initial session as having been used. You will be welcome to book another session but the subsequent booking will be chargeable.
